An opportunity has arisen within this lively service. You will need to be committed to supporting and enabling the service user with varied individual needs. There service provides independent living to 1 person with learning difficulties.
The service users receives individual 2:1 support to help them learn daily living skills and maintain their tenancy. A member of staff sleeps in sleeps in each night and there is a waking person to provide additional support and ensure the safety of the service user. This is a seven-day a week, 24 hour a day supported service. Extensive induction training will provide you with the skills you need to become a successful support worker.

Southdown has taken over a contract to provide a number if supported living schemes for people with severe learning disabilities in the Chichester area.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative team supporting a wide range of individuals and their families who need short term housing related support. You will assist the Gateway Team to deliver a responsive service by taking referrals, conducting preliminary needs assessments and inputting this data onto our systems to enable accurate internal and external reporting.
We are looking to recruit someone who can communicate effectively with vulnerable clients, is organised and can work to deadlines, enjoys problem-solving and team work and can confidently use a computer to input data and maintain accurate records.

We have an exciting opportunity within our expanding Training Department for a Practice Development Trainer to work with our housing support and supported employment services. Our services support a wide range of vulnerable people, including people who use mental health services or have learning or other disabilities. Southdown Housing Association is a innovative organisation and this new role has been created to meet the needs of our expanding and changing services. We have an excellent reputation for the quality of our staff and our service provision and we are keen to have an in-house specialist within the training department to champion and guide practice quality. We know that staff learning and development is a key element in good quality service provision, and the role will be critical to helping staff develop their practice to meet current and new agendas.
In addition to designing and delivering training, you will provide practice advice to individuals and groups of staff and will work with managers and services to develop practice and the accompanying processes. You must have considerable practice experience at a senior practitioner or management level, excellent presentation skills and an ability to help others problem solve, learn and change their practice. You should be able to research information from a wide range of sources, analyse this and disseminate relevant information to staff. A commitment to person-centred, empowering approaches that enable people who use our services to achieve independence and their own goals with time limited support is crucial, as is an ability to involve people who use services in staff learning and development. Whilst experience of delivering training is desirable, if you have the practice experience and skills we require, plus enthusiasm and confidence, we can provide input to enable you to develop expertise in formal training design and delivery.
For this role it is essential that you hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.
The salary point paid will depend on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Southdowns services have been acknowledged as an "emerging centre of excellence" by the Saisnbury Centre for Mental Health. We operate services across Sussex and are looking to recruit the following post:
Working with one of Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trusts Community Mental Health Teams, you will directly support people with mental health issues to gain employment, education or voluntary opportunities in line with the Individual Placement of Support Model. You will also liaise directly with employers to provide ongoing support to enable people to retain jobs. With experience of providing employment advice you will also demonstrate a strong commitment and empathy to maximise work opportunities for people with mental health needs.

This role provides cover in services when permanent Support Workers are on leave, off sick or on training courses.
