Reporting a repair

How to report a repair

Southdown is not directly responsible for repairs on all of the properties it leases to tenants. Your Housing Officer will always inform you of who you should contact about repairs and provide you with a daytime and out-of-hours telephone number when you need to contact another organisation.

Where Southdown is responsible for repairs, the process to report any requests is as follows:

As a tenant of Southdown you are responsible for reporting repairs. You can do this by:

When reporting a repair it is helpful if you can give as much information as possible:

  • Your full address

  • What the problem is

  • Where is it? (which room and floor)

  • What you think might have caused it, if you know

  • Provide as much detail as possible e.g type / make or model of faulty part, colour , materials, approx. dimensions

  • Access details – when is it most convenient for the contractor to visit?

Staff will talk to a contractor and will let you know when they are able to come out

Southdown is committed to keeping the housing it manages in the best possible state of repair. We will regularly inspect our properties and consult with service users to develop a programme of regular maintenance.
