Southdown prides itself on being a professional and supportive Landlord to all its tenants, providing homes that are of a good quality, well maintained, affordable to rent and energy efficient. To be the best possible Landlord we make sure that we listen to what our tenants tell us, respond quickly to requests and queries, and make sure we invest in the upkeep of properties.
Southdown manages around 560 tenancies, of which 260 are owned directly by Southdown and where it has full repairing responsibility. The remaining 300 tenancies are sub-leased to Southdown by other landlords (mainly Housing Associations and Local Authorities) and Southdown is usually only responsible for rental collection and housing management with each Landlord retaining responsibility for repairs.
Housing Management Team
The Housing Management Team is based centrally from our Lewes Office and is comprised of an Area Manager, Team Leader, 3 Housing Officers and an Administrator.
Housing Officers assist with all aspects of ensuring that tenants maintain their tenancy and comply with their legal responsibilities. This includes overseeing tenancy sign–ups, rent collection and arrears monitoring, anti-social behaviour and any legal issues.

Property Services Team
The Property Services Team, based at our Lewes office, oversee all aspects of property maintenance and development. This includes receiving and allocating repair requests to contractors, overseeing the planned maintenance programme (i.e. investing in the long-term maintenance of properties such as external redecoration, kitchen and bathroom replacements etc), coordinating property health and safety checks and providing specialist technical assistance to the Housing Management team.
