Supported Employment Service
West Sussex Learning Difficulties Team

Who we can help

We are commissioned by West Sussex County Council to provide supported employment for people with learning difficulties, aged 18-65 across the whole of Sussex. We follow a well established model of supported employment.

We offer one-to-one support for people with learning difficulties who want to get a job - paid or unpaid, part-time or full-time. We expect candidates to work in accordance with national employment benefits earning rules: paid work will be at or above the National Minimum Wage; any work experience placement will be for a short period only, and voluntary work will occur within a non-profit making organisation.

How we can help

  • We spend time compiling a Vocational Profile that enables us to identify the ideal job for you
  • We offer advice on benefits and how working may affect them
  • We provide support for job searching and approaching and meeting employers, and advice on interview techniques
  • We conduct a job analysis to ensure that every aspect is meeting your requirements and that the employer is adhering to health and safety standards
  • We can offer job coaching in your working environment
  • We provide on-going support to both clients and employers through regular monitoring and reviews
