Southdown is registered to provide ‘domiciliary care’. This means that we can provide
personal care in your own home. You might choose to pay us directly for this at an
agreed hourly rate, or your Care Manager can contact us on your behalf and provide
the money for your support. The personal care might be just a part of the support we
provide. For example we can support you to go to college or to swimming or a club,
and our staff member will also be able to help you in the toilet and with eating and
drinking if that is what you need.
‘Southdown Support’ will always help you to be as independent as possible and to choose your activities and life style.

Personal story
Sandra lives in a supported living scheme and aims to be as independent as possible. Since moving into supported living, she has learned to travel independently on the bus, and staff have helped her to find a voluntary job.
Her dream is to get a paid job and travel. Southdown staff support her to continue to achieve her personal goals and to make choices and decisions for herself.
