Southdown is one of the top ten companies to work for in the UK. We were placed at number ten in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies To Work For list last year.

Southdown was also ranked the number one company in the UK for being run on sound moral principles, the second best for having strong values, fifth for making a difference to the world, seventh for putting something back into the community and ninth for being ‘green’.

The Sunday Times accolade is just one of several awards won recently by Southdown:

• We were awarded three star 'exceptional' Best Companies accreditation in a scheme, set up alongside the top 100 Sunday Times list, to acknowledge corporate excellence in the workplace.
• We were named runner-up in the Company of the Year category at the Sussex Business Awards.
• Our Investor In People accreditation was renewed for a further three years.
• We won a national care sector training accolade after being judged the best employer promoting continued professional development.
• Southdown won an International Safety Award from the British Safety Council for the second year running.
• We became an Employer Champion with Stonewall, the campaigning organisation for lesbian and gay rights.

Awards are important to Southdown because, as well as highlighting our work, they support our funding bids and help us to attract a high calibre of staff. Most importantly, they reassure tenants and staff that our work has been externally validated.
