Service users and the people who use our services
are at the heart of everything we do at Southdown. We believe
that their views, knowledge and experience should have a real
influence on the decisions that we make as an organisation.
We want to encourage tenants and service users
to be involved with Southdown at a level which suits them and,
with this in mind, have developed a Service User Involvement Strategy.
This provides a range of opportunities to match people’s
abilities and the level of commitment they wish or are able to
offer.
The ways in which we involve tenants and service users include:
- Service user satisfaction surveys and
questionnaires
- Involvement in planning and writing tenants’
magazine SHAring
- Service user representation on forums and
working parties
- Social events
- Discussion groups
- Involvement in recruiting staff
- The Southdowners Group
- A service user being a member of Southdown’s
Board
- Employing a Service User Involvement Co-ordinator
